Internships & Opportunities
Looking for opportunities in the energy space? Find work, meet like-minded researchers, and get published.
The Kleinman Center is thrilled to offer a wide variety of opportunities for students to expand their energy education. Find energy-related opportunities across campus and beyond—from blog competitions to case competitions, and internships to jobs.
The IEA is based in Paris, France and this fellowship provides a designated position to working on energy, environmental, or economic issues.
Spend the summer with Energia, an international network focused on promoting gender equality, women’s empowerment, and sustainable energy access.
Kleinman Summer Fellowships
Make the most of your summer with a fellowship designed for you. Our Kleinman Birol Fellowship, for example, sends a Penn student to work at the International Energy Agency in Paris. Our fellowship with the Philadelphia Energy Authority helps a student explore energy at home in Philadelphia. And in 2022, we will roll out a third fellowship with ENERGIA, for a student who is interested in the intersection of energy transition and gender.
Kleinman Research Assistants
Each fall the Kleinman Center hires student research assistants to support our ongoing research projects. Students can have their research published by the Center and shared with our audience. We welcome students from all schools and academic levels to apply.
Note: Unpaid professional opportunities may qualify for Kleinman grant money. Once you have accepted an unpaid offer, please submit your grant request through our student grant form.

This is an opportunity you don’t get often. The opportunity to access all of the top knowledge in world energy, work with people from around the world, learn and work on something you are interested in, and come home with an international publication.Khushboo Goel, 2018 Kleinman Birol Fellow
