The Effectiveness of Climate Adaptation Policies
Focusing on three core adaption measures (1) abandonment; (2) accommodation; and (3) managed retreat, this project will analyze their legal, regulatory, and constitutional challenges and risks. It will review the existing legal and policy literature on climate adaptation measures and will develop a study case of the legal challenges of the implementation of these measures in Norfolk Virginia.
Grant Result
Climate change will increasingly require both homeowners and policymakers to accept the sobering reality that we must move away from our most vulnerable communities.
