What Will Happen to the Fight to Save the Climate Under President Trump?

President–elect Donald Trump has vowed to quickly remove the United States from the Paris Agreement on climate and bring back the glory days of coal in the United States.

What will that mean for the global fight against climate disruption?

What will it mean for Pennsylvania?

Now, to be sure, many observers think that a President Trump can’t stop the energy revolution. And the so-called “war on coal” is being waged very successfully by cheap natural gas—production of which the President-elect also wants to expand. So don’t hold your breath for a coal revival, some say.

But elections matter. 

Will the climate fight and energy markets get trumped?

I don’t have a crystal ball, but I’ll be offering some thoughts on all of this—and more—in a lunchtime keynote talk at Addressing the Challenge of Climate Change: The Role of the Law and Lawyers this Wednesday.
