On March 3, Shell Oil Company president Marvin Odum spoke with students and faculty in the Kleinman Center Energy Forum as part of a daylong event co-sponsored with the Penn Wharton Public Policy Initiative.

In the forum, Odum discussed today’s energy transition and stressed the need for future industry leaders who embrace collaboration as they pave a unique path. Wharton Professor Arthur van Benthem moderated the discussion, and students lined up to ask questions during a busy question-and-answer period.

On the future of energy policy, Odum said, “There’s an opportunity here—particularly for companies like Shell—to co-create a solution with somebody who’s deeply into this business and clearly understands energy markets, what a transition might look like, and what the barriers are to that change taking place.”
