Electric Vehicle Charging Networks Reliability: Case Studies of National and Local Policies in Japan

To conduct case-study research on EV charging policies in Japan, the study includes literature reviews in both English and Japanese, followed by interviews in Japan on a case-study basis. Topics of research include integration between chargers, public utilities, and homes; reducing congestion at charging stations; route planning to facilitate charging; the design of charging stations, the role of different stakeholders in investing and owning the charging networks, regulation of charging rates, equity issues regarding underserved communities and low-income households.
