Achieving Net-Zero Emissions in the State of Michigan

This project aims to develop a net-zero roadmap for the state of Michigan that will include an assessment of the technical feasibility of significant (e.g., 85-90%) deep decarbonization to CDR, based upon the regional availability of resources such as low-carbon energy, land, water, and biomass waste, based on the following factors: Michigan’s willingness to achieve goals through existing net-zero emissions targets, climate impact vulnerability, access to local stakeholders who can provide direction and input to inform the mapping effort, and clear use cases for a net-zero roadmap articulated by state officials.
