Mark leads Environmental Defense Fund (EDF)’s Energy Transition work, shaping the organization’s strategies to accelerate decarbonization in major emitting sectors including energy and transportation, in line with a net zero future. He is a leading voice on energy policy including methane mitigation, both within North America and at the global level, through initiatives such as MethaneSAT and the Methane Guiding Principles, which EDF was integral in launching.
Brownstein holds a B.A. from Vassar College and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
