Laurel E. Redding

Laurel E. Redding, VMD, PhD, DACVPM, is a veterinary epidemiologist specializing in the epidemiology and transmission of microbes at the human-animal interface. Her research focuses on antimicrobial stewardship in veterinary medicine and the impact of animal contact on gut microbiome health, particularly in relation to Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI). An internationally recognized expert, Dr. Redding has received funding from NIH, USDA, and others, and her work is published in leading journals. She is also the director of the Human-Animal Health Interface at Penn Vet’s Center for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Safety.
