Juan-Pablo Montero

Visiting Scholar

2019-2020

Juan-Pablo Montero was a 2019-2020 visiting scholar at the Kleinman Center and is a professor of economics at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. His research and teaching are concentrated in the areas of resource and environmental economics and industrial organization. He has also been a visiting professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. His work has appeared in the Journal of Political Economy, American Economic Review, Review of Economics Studies, The Economic Journal, and others. He has also been a consultant in antitrust and environmental policy for government agencies and private corporations in Chile and abroad.

Montero holds a degree in civil engineering from PUC and MSc and PhD degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Montero is hosted jointly by the Kleinman Center and Wharton’s Business Economics and Public Policy.
