Event Summary

The Spring Sustainable Agriculture Seminar features presentations from current grant recipients working across sustainable agriculture, agriculture-energy cross-sectoral issues, and climate policy. Across two sessions, researchers will share emerging findings, methods, and early outcomes from their funded projects.

Please note: Session times have been updated due to scheduling conflicts.

Each presentation will include a 20-minute research overview, followed by 10 minutes of discussion and Q&A

Light refreshments will be provided.

Penn Compact Professor, Political Science

Erik Wibbels is a Penn Compact Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also the co-director of PDRI/DevLab@Penn.

Irina Marinov

Associate Professor, Earth and Environmental Science

Irina Marinov is a climate scientist and an associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania in the department of Earth and Environmental Science.

Abby Lunstrum

Research Associate, Clean Energy Conversions Lab

Abby Lunstrum is a research associate at the University of Pennsylvania. She holds a PhD in Geology from the University of Southern California.

Likhwa Ndlovu

Ph.D. Student, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

Likhwa Ndlovu is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on leveraging geoscience principles for the responsible deployment of carbon management solutions.

Laurel E. Redding

Associate Professor of Epidemiology, PennVet

Laurel E. Redding is a associate professor of epidemiology at PennVet. She is also the director of the Human-Animal Health Interface at Penn Vet’s Center for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Safety.

Leon Gwaka

Postdoctoral Fellow, Center for Technology, Innovation

Leon Gwaka is a postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Technology, Innovation, and Competition working on the 1 World Connected project under the supervision of Prof Christopher Yoo. He is also a competition research fellow at Penn Carey Law.
