Decarbonization and Urban Institutions
Event Summary
Over half of the world’s population lives in cities and accounts for roughly 60% of the world’s GHG emissions, presenting both great opportunities and unique challenges for cities and the higher education institutions therein to address climate change. In this panel, we will explore the role of higher education institutions in Boston (MIT), New York City (Columbia), and Philadelphia (Penn) and how these institutions are advancing decarbonization efforts in the context of their communities.
Please note this is a hybrid event. We look forward to welcoming guests to the Kleinman Center’s Energy Forum. In accordance with the University of Pennsylvania’s COVID-19 guidelines, masks are optional for all visitors. PennOpen Pass and PennOpen Campus screenings are no longer required for entry to our events. Further details for joining in-person or virtually will be emailed with your registration.
