Sustainable Agriculture Fund

The Sustainable Agriculture Fund at the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy, supported by a generous gift from alumnus Carl H. Goldsmith (W’88), is dedicated to advancing research at the intersection of energy policy, sustainable agriculture, and climate policy with a focus on sustainable agriculture practices, policies, and science & technology that alleviate adverse environmental and socio-economic impacts. Managed within the Kleinman Center, this initiative aims to deliver meaningful interdisciplinary outcomes and establish a foundation for long-term impact.

We are seeking undergraduate and/ or graduate students with an interest in these topics to support this research effort.

Job Requirements

  • Support ongoing operations and activities of the Sustainable Agriculture Fund.
  • Help coordinate the Sustainable Agriculture Fund research grants program, including communications with research teams, coordination with the Kleinman Center administrative team, and managing logistics for the peer review process.
  • Conduct, compile, and format monthly research on domestic and international sustainable agriculture news and legislation updates to be contributed to the Kleinman Center recurring legislative and news email.
  • Plan and support Sustainable Agriculture Fund events and conferences, including coordinating speakers, internal and external communications, booking rooms, managing catering, and any events-related logistics.
  • Develop and update the annual calendar of virtual and in-person Sustainable Agriculture Fund meetings and events, including draft event concept notes, blog or press statements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

An ideal candidate for this position is highly motivated to understand and improve our modern agriculture and food system, has strong research skills, and a foundational academic background in either energy, policy, economics, chemistry, biology, or earth science that will help guide their work and research into these important questions. They should be proactive and an independent self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills.
