Shleifer Gift Expands Engagement with Practitioners

The Kleinman Center for Energy Policy is pleased to announce the Shleifer Senior Fellows Program, funded by the generosity of Scott and Elena Shleifer.

This new contribution to the center provides financial support for two senior fellow positions annually for a period of three years. Shleifer senior fellows will integrate teaching and lecturing, research and writing, and public engagement to advance public policy outcomes in their areas of expertise.

This spring, the Kleinman Center will name two Shleifer Senior Fellows: one from our group of existing senior fellows and a new hire who will add expertise in climate finance.

The Kleinman Center’s senior fellows program has brought distinguished practitioners to the center to enrich their own learning and professional development—while expanding our expertise areas and research agenda.

Over the years, we have welcomed dozens of senior fellows, including policy makers, regulators, industry leaders, and analysts with a broad array of expertise. These fellows have contributed to our understanding of topics like climate risk insurance, industrial decarbonization, energy security, electricity markets, LNG markets, and more.

With this new funding, we look forward to growing this impactful program while expanding our connections and areas of understanding.
