Energy Technology and Policy

Zakaria Hsain is a Ph.D. candidate in the department of mechanical engineering and applied mechanics at the University of Pennsylvania. His doctoral research encompasses fields as varied as mechanics, electrochemistry, and nanofabrication, and focuses on enabling nature-inspired functionalities in metallic materials such as self-healing. As a member of the Penn Science Policy and Diplomacy Group, he has written on nuclear energy and advocated for clean energy legislation. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University in 2017.
