The Future Health of Graduate Education in Energy
The Kleinman Center For Energy Policy will host a discussion symposium from 10:30am to 12:00pm on June 27th at the 11th AESS Conference at the University of Central Florida. To secure a sustainable future, there is a growing need for qualified young professionals with an interest in addressing global energy, climate, and environmental challenges. This symposium will focus on the current and future health of graduate programs in energy systems and environmental studies, with the goal of better understanding how graduate education must evolve to meet the changing demands of both engaged students and eager employers. Graduate degree programs have a responsibility to provide students with the opportunities and resources to effectively develop their expertise, while also providing an atmosphere that fosters broad critical thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and discovery. Speakers will share their institutional experience with developing and maintaining impactful programs, the challenges and successes they have faced along the way, and the lessons they have learned.
