The U.S. energy storage sector has seen a major expansion in recent years. By the end of 2018, there were 33 GW of storage projects in the pipeline. FERC Order 841 and State initiatives have accelerated this deployment which has been focused on projects co-locating renewable energy and storage and large-scale storage. But the expansion of competition may drive challenges. This panel of experts reviewed the state of the energy storage sector, as well as the outlook for the coming years.
