Penn Global in partnership with Penn in Latin America and the Caribbean (PLAC) will host the 5th Annual PLAC Symposium on Friday, March 27, 2020 at Perry World House. They aim to positively highlight Penn work in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and to foster interdisciplinary dialogue among stakeholders across campus to inform Penn’s ongoing engagement in the region.

The main feature of the Symposium will be blitz presentations and discussion of LAC-related research, education, and practice at Penn. The event is tentatively scheduled to run from 12:30 to 4:00 pm. Lunch will be provided, and the event will be followed by a Latin/Caribbean music-themed reception.

Call for Proposals

All members of the Penn community are invited to present LAC-related work at the Symposium. Blitz presentations should last no more than 5 minutes and use no more than 3 PowerPoint slides. Presentations will be grouped into thematic panels to foster discussion and illuminate potential synergies across Penn. If you would like to present, please click here to fill out a brief form (requires only a title and a 2-3 sentence description) by Monday, February 3, 2020 and you will be notified by late February if your presentation has been accepted for the Symposium.

Mark your calendars now and plan to join on March 27, either as a presenter or attendee, to participate in these exciting discussions of Penn’s engagement in the LAC region.
