Description
The Research Assistant will support the Kleinman Center’s news bulletin and legislative tracking function alongside broader work across the center. This role is designed for a student who wants applied research and writing experience combined with exposure to how a policy center operates day to day, with the specific mix of work shaped in part around the student’s interests and skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Track relevant energy and climate policy news and legislation as part of the KCEP News Bulletin process
- Contribute periodic blog updates
- Support production of the weekly bulletin and any associated readouts/synthesis
- Contribute to other KCEP priorities as they arise, which may include event support, communications, or administrative coordination
- Assist in identifying opportunities to connect bulletin content with ongoing KCEP research and initiatives
- Attend regular check-ins to discuss progress and next steps
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student with an interest in energy policy or communications
- Strong research and writing skills
- Ability to work independently, manage time across varied tasks, and adapt to shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience tracking or synthesizing legislative updates on a state or federal level.
