Jacqueline Patterson, founder and executive director of The Chisholm Legacy Project, was this year’s recipient of the 2024 Carnot Prize. Shelley Welton, Presidential Distinguished Professor of Law and Energy Policy, gave the lecture in Patterson’s honor, explaining how we can design institutions that support energy justice.

Bob Inglis, a six-term U.S. Congressman from South Carolina, experienced a personal and political evolution on climate change, becoming a prominent advocate for bipartisan solutions to the climate crisis. At this year’s Energy Week, Inglis discussed today’s urgent need for conservative voices in the climate discussion. Joining him on stage were Michael Mann, vice provost for climate science, policy, and action at Penn, and Sanya Carley, faculty director of the Kleinman Center.
