Description

The Government Affairs Summer Associate will conduct extensive independent research and writing for Government Affairs and create outreach materials for the Eastern Region. This is a 10-week full-time and paid internship that will start on or around June 6, 2016.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Analyze legislation on how they could impact our current or future plans
  • Research specific projects related to renewable energy – such as the schedules and interveners for state Integrated Resource Plans, trends in state RPS’s, or current state electricity portfolios and how that could change in the future
  • Develop public outreach campaigns where needed
  • Update, maintain, and pull reports from CRM database to enable and analyze outreach efforts
  • Travel to EDPR Wind Farms and sites of Wind Farm development and assist in public outreach material
  • Research state and regional regulatory dockets on directed renewable energy issues
  • Write op-eds, letters to the editor, articles for the EDPR internal news website and other outreach materials
  • Additional duties as required
Application Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Current undergraduate (Junior or Senior) or graduate student

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Interest in renewable energy, electricity markets, and public policy

  • Able to learn & understand EDPR’s existing Wind Farm portfolio, project “pipeline”, and potential opportunities
