Course Code:
504
Topic:
Engineering

The course will cover both theoretical and practical tribology, the science and technology of interacting surfaces in relative motion, including various modes of lubrication, hydrodynamic, elasto-hydradynamic, hydrostatic, mixed, solid and dry, leading to an understanding of friction and various modes of wear. At each stage, the tribological principles learned will be connected to how to improve the effi ciency and durability of mechanical equipment and thereby enhance sustainability through energy and materials conservation.
